HOW TO CHOOSE FOOTWEAR
This is like opening up a can of worms, everybody has an opinion on the best way to choose a size or a style and "the experts" think they alone know. The fact is we deal with a lot of experts and if they were right they would all be saying the same things, but they do not.

We have very good relationships with health professionals. Podiatrists, Physios, Chiros and we respect their opinion about whether it's better to wear a neutral shoe with orthotics or a medial posted shoe. Do you have a high arch or low arch, do you pronate late in the gait or are neutral on one side and a slight pronation on the other?

We take the traditional way a little with regards to a medial shoe being more suitable for you if you roll a little in, but the number 1 rule we abide is "WHAT DOES YOUR HEALTH PROFESSIONAL RECOMMEND?"

They know your individual case and are qualified to give you the best advice and SPORTS LOCKER will never try to push you into a shoe just to get a sale. Frankly we are not that desperate. We will leave it to other sports stores to do that.

MAKING SURE YOUR SHOES FIT CORRECTLY
Here is another chestnut. Again the "experts" will tell you how to fit your shoes. "try them on late in the day", "make sure you have plenty of room", "width of your thumb nail between your longest toe and the end of the shoe".  " don't forget feet swell during a run or through activities" etc, etc, etc.

The fact is, it is important to have your shoes fit you correctly. That's obvious and the above suggestions certainly do have merit, but you are the one wearing them and they need to fit to your preference.

Players involved in lateral sports basketball, tennis, footy may want them a little firmer to provide support in side to side movements and some people require more room for sensitive nerve endings. We have football players who like to wear them as hard as a rock and others like them with ridiculous amounts of room.

We can give advice but only you can determine if they feel right for you.
